Message from the President of the
2nd major fundraising campaign committee
Maurice Berlinguette

I have had a very rewarding 34 year career at Peter Hall School, a special needs school for students with an intellectual disability.

My first post was as a teacher in 1975 and I was a campus director from 1992 to 2009. In 2004, I became a member of the Peter Hall School Foundation board of directors and since then I have been involved in all of the Foundation’s projects.

Over my 34 years I have interacted with thousands of students and hundreds of dedicated educational professionals in the area of intellectual disabilities. I can also easily state that Peter Hall is a large family composed of volunteers and financial supporters that remain involved in the school and foundation year after year.

Today we are concentrating all of our efforts on our Second Major Fundraising Campaign. During our first campaign, we had a financial goal of one million dollars and we easily surpassed it. Now our objective for this campaign is 2.5 million dollars that will permit us to expand the Côte-Vertu Secondary Campus, to develop certain areas of the Ouimet Primary Campus, and to offer up-to-date educational programs to our students.

To accomplish this, we need you, we need your support and we need your generosity.

Maurice Berlinguette - Vice-President of the Peter Hall School Foundation.

In 1980, Maurice received his Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University. In 1984, he obtained his Masters of Education from McGill University. In 1995, he obtained a graduate Diploma in Institutional Administration for the Non-Profit sector from Concordia University.

As well as being very involved with the Peter Hall School Foundation since 2004, Maurice was also a member of the board of directors of Québec Special Olympics in 1983-84. He was a member of the Commission des Loisirs for Ville LaSalle in 1985-86. Maurice was President of the Peter Hall Congress in 1983 and 1986. Maurice was also a member of the board of directors of l’Association des Personnes Handicapées de la Rive-Sud Ouest in 1990-91. Maurice is also a member of the board of directors since 2010 and Vice-President for 2011-2012 for the Fondation des Ressources Alternatives de Salaberry on the south shore of Montréal.
